Growing anti-tourism sentiments in Europe

In the wake of growing protests by residents in Barcelona, Spain, the government puts a ban on Segway, so to discourage tourism and related activities in the city. The action has come in force witnessing the persistent protest from by the local residents as they complain the city is becoming a park, the rents and cost of goods are rising, places becoming crowded, the environment is being degraded.
This is an example of how tourism could be a bane when is not planned well and perceived negatively by the local residents.
Not only Barcelona, other cities in Europe witnessing same problems and the Governments are mulling on curbing initiatives.
